چکیده
This study provides support for the hypothesis that treatment response to an initial course of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) for depression predicts the magnitude of response to a subsequent course of rTMS in the setting of symptom relapse.

Prediction of the response to repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation by spectral powers of prefrontal regions of brain.
Introduction: Quantitative assessments of the effects induced by repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) are crucial to develop more efficient and personalized treatments. Objectives: To determine the spectral powers of different subbands of EEG correlated with treatment response to rTMS. Materials and Methods: the spectral powers of different...
متن کاملDramatic Response of Resistant Obsessive Compulsive Disorder to Repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation on Right Supplementary Motor Area
The response rate to the treatment of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is 21.6% to 61.3%, which shows a relative resistance to current treatments and a need for novel therapeutic approaches. Here we report a case of resistant OCD with fast and dramatic response to a relatively new method of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation. In this method a pulse magnetic field emits from a coil o...
متن کاملSeverity of Depression Predicts Remission Rates Using Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
BACKGROUND Multiple factors likely impact response and remission rates in the treatment of depression with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS). Notably, the role of symptom severity in outcomes with rTMS is poorly understood. OBJECTIVE/HYPOTHESIS This study investigated the predictors of achieving remission in patients suffering from depression who receive ≥3 rTMS treatments p...
متن کاملProspective Validation That Subgenual Connectivity Predicts Antidepressant Efficacy of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Sites.
BACKGROUND The optimal target in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex for treating depression with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) remains unknown. Better efficacy has been associated with stimulation sites that are 1) more anterior and lateral and 2) more functionally connected to the subgenual cingulate. Here we prospectively test whether these factors predict response in in...
متن کاملRepeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Nursing Care: A Review
Repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (RTMS) therapy is one of the modern treatment methods for various neurological and psychiatric diseases. With the clinical advancement of new therapies, there is a need to increase nursing knowledge, various practical skills, and new ways of organizing care. This study aims to review the rTMS, and the role of psychiatric nurses before, during and after...
